Residence Requirements & House Rules
Paradise Recovery Housing — Central Florida Recovery Residences
Residents of Paradise Recovery Housing are expected to maintain a clean and sober lifestyle. You are accountable to your peers, the residence manager, and Paradise Recovery Housing staff. The expectations below are a summary of the requirements outlined in our full intake paperwork — provided to every resident upon admission.
Core Expectations
- Zero tolerance for use or possession of drugs or alcohol. Residents who relapse will be discharged from the program and removed from the residence immediately.
- Random mandatory breathalyzer and drug testing. Upon request, residents have one hour to provide a sample; failure to provide is considered a positive test.
- Attend the weekly house meeting. Attendance is mandatory.
- Attend three 12-step meetings weekly outside of the house meeting; join a home group and work the steps with a sponsor.
- Maintain a full-time schedule of employment, school, or volunteer work.
- Abide by curfew based on your current phase (11pm for Phase 1, 12am for Phases 2–3, 1am for Senior Peer).
- Complete rotating chore assignments posted by the residence manager.
- Keep noise at a respectful level. Our residences are in residential neighborhoods.
House Rules — Behaviors That Are Not Acceptable
- No verbal or physical altercations of any kind.
- No use of another resident's belongings without permission. No stealing or shoplifting.
- No weapons on premises or carried on one's person.
- No visiting casinos, strip clubs, brothels, bars, or any establishment with a primary focus on drinking.
- No consumption of kratom or kava, or visiting establishments that serve these. This is considered a relapse and will result in immediate discharge.
- No vandalism of property.
- No sexual or romantic fraternization with any resident or staff member of the recovery residence.
- No illegal activities while living at the residence.
- No pets, no smoking inside the home, no pornography, no fireworks.
- No taking, using, or consuming another resident's food without permission.
- Visitors require manager approval. No exceptions.
Conflict Resolution
When a conflict arises, residents are expected to talk to the individual involved and set a healthy boundary. If the issue is not resolved, bring it up at the weekly house meeting. If still unresolved, the residence manager will mediate. If problems persist, the CRRA will review and may terminate residency at their discretion after discussion with ownership.
