FARR Certified Recovery Residence

Paradise Recovery Housing is a Certified Recovery Residence under the Florida Association of Recovery Residences (FARR) and National Alliance of Recovery Residences (NARR) standards.

FARR Certified Residence

What FARR Certification Means

The Florida Association of Recovery Residences (FARR) is the state affiliate of the National Alliance of Recovery Residences (NARR). A FARR Certified Residence has voluntarily committed to a defined set of operating standards and a code of ethics designed to protect residents, neighbors, and the integrity of the recovery community.

Procedural Standards

All owners, managers, and staff at Paradise Recovery Housing receive orientation to the FARR Code of Ethics and document their agreement to abide by these principles as a condition of employment. Staff complete FARR Ethics and FARR Standards training annually, with newly hired staff completing both within their first 90 days.

Confidential Information

Confidential resident information is never disclosed except with the resident's written authorization, or as allowed under federal or state law. No employee or volunteer may use confidential information to further a private interest or generate profit. Resident confidentiality is protected by state law with limited exceptions (court orders, threats of harm to self or others, suspected child abuse).

Responsibility to Residents

Our primary obligation is to respect the integrity and promote the welfare of every resident. We take reasonable precautions to protect individuals from physical or psychological trauma within the community. If a resident's needs are not being met at our level of support — including imminent harm risk or psychological deterioration — we assist them in securing the appropriate level of care and refer to professionals when needed.

We refrain from intimidation, bullying, or discriminatory behavior, and we apply written residence rules consistently and uniformly. No staff member solicits or accepts commissions, fees, or other monetary value from residents or referral sources.

Ethical Conflicts

Staff excuse themselves from taking an active part in the recovery and treatment plans of relatives, close friends, or business acquaintances. We comply with FS 817.505 prohibitions on patient brokering. Former clients are not hired as employees until a minimum six-month period has elapsed, and all program associates refrain from non-therapeutic dual relationships for a minimum of two years.

Marketing Ethics

We do not make marketing claims or run advertising that contains false or misleading statements, fabricated testimonials, misleading price claims, or promotional offers designed to induce enrollment in exchange for free rent, travel, or other "freebies." We do not advertise therapeutic strategies that require a license we do not hold.

Grievances

Residents may file an in-house grievance with the residence manager or CRRA without retribution. Residents may also file a grievance directly with FARR through the FARR Grievance Form linked from our website and from the FARR website.
